A trust held for the community

Leadership & governance

The masjid is run by a management committee on behalf of the Brick Lane Jamme Masjid Trust — a registered charity safeguarding this 282-year-old house of Allah for the generations to come.

Brick Lane Jamme Masjid is overseen by a Board of Trustees and an Executive Committee responsible for its governance, strategic direction, and day-to-day management. Their role is to ensure the masjid operates in accordance with Islamic principles, while meeting every legal and regulatory requirement.

The trustees and committee carry the responsibility of safeguarding the masjid as a trust for the community — overseeing finances, ensuring the proper management of resources, and maintaining the facilities to a high standard. Transparency and accountability sit at the centre of how decisions are made, so that the masjid remains sustainable and capable of serving future generations.

"Leadership here is stewardship — a duty of service, not authority alone."
