Fee policy
1. Admission fee
One-off admission fee, per child, at enrolment (no discount)£10
2. Monthly fee
Per calendar month£40
- Fees are paid between the 1st and 7th of each month. If unpaid within this period the child may be excluded; a £5 surcharge is then payable to re-join. If a fee remains outstanding for more than a month, the child will be excluded permanently. If you have any difficulty paying, please speak to our admin team.
- If you are experiencing financial hardship, please contact us in writing with evidence. Each case is reviewed individually and a reduction may be authorised.
- Families going on holiday during a session must inform us in writing and pay in full in advance — there is no reduction for holidays. Leaving without notice may result in the loss of the child's place and any deposit.
- Fees cannot be taken outside Madrasah times — please pay before or after the session.
- All fees are due regardless of any Islamic holidays taken during the year.
- Please always ensure your fee is logged and that you have a receipt from the administrator.
3. Re-admission fee
If a child has been excluded for any reason (non-payment, behaviour, discipline, long absence, regular lateness, etc.) and is later offered a place again, a re-admission fee of £10 is payable.
4. Waiting list
If all places are full we may add your child to a waiting list. A place on the waiting list is not a guarantee of a place. When a place becomes available it is offered to the next child on the list, and the £10 admission fee is payable to secure and enrol.
Rules & regulations
- The minimum age for students is the same as school Year 1.
- Children must be able to go to the toilet and clean themselves independently before a place can be allocated.
- Dress code: students' appearance must adhere to Islamic guidelines. Inadequate attire or grooming (including patterns shaved into eyebrows or hair; Mohicans; V-cuts; lines, etc.) will result in the parent being called in and asked to take their child home.
- Madrasah times: Weekdays (Evening Madrasah) Monday–Thursday 5:00pm–7:00pm (8 hours/week); Weekends Saturday–Sunday 11:00am–1:00pm (6 hours/week); Hifz Monday–Thursday 5:00pm–7:00pm and Saturday 11:00am–1:00pm (14 hours/week).
- Students arriving more than 10 minutes late will not be allowed into class unless admin is informed in advance.
- For any absence or requested leave, parents must provide a letter giving the reason.
- Frequent lateness or absence will lead to a meeting with the Head Teacher; continuous absence without notice may lead to exclusion.
- Students must show obedience, good conduct and good behaviour at all times. Misconduct may lead to permanent exclusion.
- Disobedient or disruptive students are dealt with under the Madrasah Discipline Policy, and a disciplinary notice is issued to parents.
- Repeated complaints about a student may leave the Madrasah no alternative but to expel the student.
- Any damage to Madrasah property will require the parent/guardian to compensate for the loss.
- To discuss anything with a teacher, please ask admin to arrange a meeting with the Head Teacher — no meetings are held during class time.
- Please do not bring your child too early; we take no responsibility for children arriving more than 10 minutes before the Madrasah starts.
- We take no responsibility 15 minutes after class finishes; repeated late collection may lead to exclusion.
- Parents will receive letters about their child from time to time, sent home with the children. Some require a signature and return as acknowledgement.
- Students must bring their own Qur'an/Qaida, Namaaz & Dua book, exercise book, pencil, bag and any material originally provided. The Madrasah will not replace equipment after enrolment, and a child may miss class if they attend without it.
- Eating and drinking are not allowed during class; a child eating/drinking will be excluded for that day, and repeated instances may lead to permanent exclusion. Please check your child's bag before they leave home.
- No mobile phones or other handheld electronic devices, toys or games are allowed. Such items will be confiscated and must be collected by arrangement with admin.
- Students may not leave early for any reason (e.g. clubs or activities) and must attend the full session unless arranged in advance.
- No verbal or physical abuse towards teachers, staff or other students will be tolerated from parents or students. The child concerned will be expelled immediately.
- Complaints must be made in writing — verbal or anonymous complaints will not be entertained. Suggestions to improve the Madrasah are welcome via the admin team.
- All new students are tested and graded by present ability. Previous education is considered but placement is at the Head Teacher's discretion.
- If a child is absent for 10 consecutive days without prior notice (and the parent has not called during Madrasah time) the child is automatically excluded and all deposits/fees are forfeited.
- The Head Teacher may exclude a child at their discretion without notice or reason. Parents may appeal in writing stating their case; a committee member will respond within 14 Madrasah days.
- Parents and guardians must attend the Madrasah when called by the Head Teacher or Education Committee.
The rules and regulations and our policies may change at any time. Please check the latest information on this website.
CCTV monitoring
For the security and safeguarding of the children, Brick Lane Jamme Masjid Trust (London) Ltd operates CCTV in the children's classrooms. We operate this CCTV under our legitimate interests in safeguarding and security (UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)), supported by clear signage — it is a standing safeguarding measure and does not depend on, and cannot be withdrawn by, your consent. Footage is used only for security and safeguarding purposes and is handled in line with UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Use of photographs & video
Images help us celebrate achievement, keep families and the community informed, and raise the Madrasah's profile — families often enjoy seeing their children featured.
- Images may appear in print or digital media: publications, the website, adverts, newsletters or social media, wall displays, or alongside stories in the media.
- A child's full name will not be published with a photograph except where directly relevant (for example, a major competition win).
- Images are only used for promotional purposes with the consent of parents/carers.
You may withdraw image consent at any time by contacting the Madrasah. After withdrawal, no further images of your child will be captured for publicity — though it may not always be possible to recall images already in circulation.
