The Hijri calendar
The Islamic (Hijri) calendar is a lunar calendar of twelve months, each beginning with the sighting of the new crescent — a framework for ʿibādah, reflection and spiritual growth.
A sacred month; the Day of ʿĀshūrāʾ (10th) — recommended fasting.
A month like any other; a time to strengthen tawakkul — trust in Allah.
The Prophet ﷺ's birth month; increase ṣalawāt and study the Sīrah.

How our times are calculated
Our times follow the London Salah Times set by the Unified Ulama Committee — built for London's high latitude and long summer twilights, combining classical fiqh, astronomical calculation and years of local observation.
We follow the London Salah Times adopted by masājid across the capital — Shariah validity first, with juristic concessions applied only where London's latitude requires them.
Fajr begins at true dawn (Fajr Ṣādiq), which the Committee found aligns closely with the onset of nautical twilight, after 15+ years of London observation.
Zuhr begins just after solar noon (zawāl), with a small precautionary buffer so the time has certainly entered.
Asr begins at the later (Hanafi) time — when an object's shadow reaches twice its length plus the noon shadow — in keeping with our community.
Maghrib begins immediately after complete sunset, with a brief precautionary allowance for the sun's full descent.
Isha begins as twilight disappears. Through the summer's persistent twilight, the Committee uses the disappearance of the red twilight (Shafaq Aḥmar) to avoid undue hardship.
